Cello trio Melo-M emerged in 2005 when trained musicians Karlis Auzans, Miķelis Dobičins and Janis Pauls decided to unite their musical talents and create a band. Melo-M play cello versions of a variety of well-known songs — from classical to world music, pop and rock. Melo-M are also well known outside Latvia. During the seven years of their musical career, the band has toured in the US twice and played a variety of concerts in Russia, Europe and elsewhere.
Melo-M have shared the stage with Boney M. vocalist Maizie Williams, legendary composer Raimonds Pauls and many other well-known artists.
The trio plays a wide repertoire of classical music. Melo-M have played a number of concerts with symphonic orchestras. The classical concerts of Melo-M often feature soprano singer Sonora Vaice. In 2010, Melo-M won the first Terem Crossover Competition (bronze medal) in St. Petersburg, Russia.
The uniqueness of Melo-M’s performances lies in their ability to combine the main features of classical music with the energy and drive of pop and rock shows.
